MPD and Wendy’s Start March Book Drive

For the second consecutive year, the Milwaukee Police Department has partnered with Milwaukee area Wendy’s restaurants to “March for Literacy.” Organized by members of the MPD’s District Three and the Technical Communications Division (911 Center), the community is asked to donate new or like new books for children at various Wendy’s locations on Saturdays throughout March, at the District Three police station (2333 N. 49th Street), or at the Next Door Foundation (2545 N. 29th Street). The Wendy’s drop off locations change each Saturday.  On March 9 we will be collecting books at the Wendy’s at 3050 S. Chase Avenue, 2310 S. 43rd Street, and 580 W. Layton Avenue. Milwaukee Police will have a police car at each Wendy’s location from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and donors are encouraged to “Stuff the Squad” with books.
