Milwaukee Police are investigating the following unrelated shootings from August 1:
5:10 p.m. in the 3300 block of N. 21st Street: During a family gathering two known individuals, a 22-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, retrieved handguns and began to shoot striking each other. Another 30-year-old woman and an 11-year-old boy were also struck. All suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. Both shooters were arrested after being treated for their injuries.
6:45 p.m. in the 2700 block of N. 53rd Street: The 23-year-old male victim stated he was walking down the street when shots rang out and he realized he had been shot. While he indicated that he did not see who shot him he did see a “red van” flee from the area. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a serious injury. MPD’s investigation into this incident is ongoing.
8:45 p.m. in the 700 block of W. Greenfield Avenue: A 48-year-old Milwaukee man was shot during a robbery after cashing a check nearby. He suffered a non-life threatening injury and was transferred to a local hospital for treatment. Our investigation is ongoing and there are currently no suspects in custody.
