Video Surveillance Leads to Arrest in West Side Burglary

Milwaukee Police officers, with the help of surveillance video, arrest a man wanted for a West Side burglary. District Three officers responded to the 2900 block of W. Wisconsin Avenue around 8:35 a.m. on August 19 and were met by the manager of an apartment building who said a suspect was caught on camera breaking into a car in the building’s garage. The car had been ransacked but the suspect fled from the scene when someone entered the garage. With the surveillance video officers had a clear description of the suspect they were looking for. The manager said the suspect may have gone into another building across the street and when officers arrived there, the suspect opened the door for them. The suspect, an 18-year-old Milwaukee man who had an open warrant for an April 2015 Attempt Theft case, was taken into custody. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
