Milwaukee Police are investigating a substantial battery that happened around 11:00 p.m. on July 29 at a home in the 3600 block of N. 21st Street. A 60-year-old Milwaukee man was struck with a bat by a 21-year-old male relative. The suspect also struck a 18-year-old male relative before fleeing from the scene. The 60-year-old victim was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. The 18-year-old victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect turned himself in to police a few hours later. MPD continues its investigation.
UPDATE (8/10/15 at 1:40 p.m.): The victim of a July 29 substantial battery in the 3600 block of N. 21st Street died from his injuries on August 8. An 18-year-old suspect turned himself into police a few hours after the initial incident. An autopsy will be performed on the victim today and amended charges are expected to be filed in the coming days.
