A teenage suspect, already in custody for separate offenses, is linked to an armed robbery after the victim recognizes the suspect inside the Milwaukee Police Department District Four station. The victim, a 14-year-old boy from Milwaukee, came into the district lobby on August 27 with his father to report the crime. The victim told officers he was inside a McDonald’s at 5739 W. Silver Spring Drive at about 8:45 p.m. on August 26 when he was approached by a group of suspects. One of the suspects displayed a gun and stole money from the victim before fleeing. When reporting the crime, the victim noticed that a person matching the description of one of the suspects was being escorted by another police officer inside the District. The victim identified the suspect and told officers that during the crime the night before the suspect was wearing a distinct hat. Officers looked at the belongings of the suspect and found the hat. The suspect, also a 14-year-old male from Milwaukee, had been taken into custody shortly after the armed robbery for two counts of Endangering Safety by Use of a Dangerous Weapon and a curfew violation. Milwaukee Police will present the cases to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
