Milwaukee Police are investigating a homicide that happened in the 1000 block of W. Lincoln Ave. around 4:30 p.m. on January 5. The victim, a 40-year-old man, was shot during an altercation and died on scene from his injury. Our investigation into this incident is ongoing.
UPDATE (1/6/16 at 9:25 a.m.): The alleged shooter, a 14-year-old Milwaukee male, was arrested as were another 14-year-old male and a 33-year-old female. It’s believed an argument between the victim’s group and the suspect’s group preceded the shooting. MPD continues to investigate and will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
UPDATE: (1/11/16 at 8:00 a.m.): Milwaukee Police have been notified by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office that that January 5, 2016 homicide near S. 10th Street and W. Lincoln Avenue has been ruled justifiable through self-defense.
