The Milwaukee Police are investigating a fatal accident that happened around 3:35 p.m. on May 27 in the 3900 block of W. Hadley Street. A 2011 Audi Q7 was westbound on W. Hadley Street at a high rate of speed, disregarded a stop sign at N. 39th Street and struck a 1999 Hyundai Elantra that was northbound on N. 39th St. The two male occupants of the Audi fled the scene on foot after the crash. The Audi had been reported stolen in Racine County about one month ago.
The Hyundai was occupied by three adults and four children. A 46-year-old female rear passenger died on scene despite the life saving efforts of the Milwaukee Fire Department. The 26-year-old male driver (operating on a suspended driver’s license) and a 28-year-old female front passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries. Two of the children, both males, ages 7 and 8 suffered very serious injuries. The other children, a 3-year-old female and 5-year-old male suffered what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Our investigation into this accident is ongoing.
UPDATE (5/27/16 at 9:45 p.m.): The following video is from this afternoon’s fatal accident at 39th and Hadley. MPD is currently seeking the two suspects inside the striking vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call MPD at 414-935-7360.
UPDATE (5/31/16 at 9:30 a.m.): The 8-year-old boy seriously injured in the May 27 crash at 39th and Hadley passed away from his injuries on May 29. MPD is still seeking suspects from the striking vehicle that caused the crash and anyone with information is asked to call MPD at 414-935-7360.
