Milwaukee Police arrested two suspects after the stolen car they were driving in fled from a traffic stop. A District Four officer saw a stolen black, Dodge Nitro travelling westbound in the 4200 block of W. Silver Spring Drive just before 9:00 p.m. on February 28. The officer was aware from roll call that a black Nitro had been stolen in an armed robbery that happened on February 26 at 3:30 am at the Clark gas station located at 7609 W. Capitol Drive. He followed the vehicle and ran the plate to confirm it was the same vehicle. He continued to follow the vehicle and requested another squad to assist in conducting a traffic stop. When the stop was attempted, the vehicle fled. A pursuit was initiated that lasted about nine minutes ending near N. 15th Street and W. Lloyd Street where a foot pursuit began. The foot pursuit lasted about four minutes and culminated in the arrest of two subjects. The driver is an 18-year-old male and the passenger is a 16-year-old male. MPD will present charges to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
