Milwaukee Police arrested two suspects, and are searching for a third known suspect, after they robbed two businesses on Milwaukee’s South Side. The first incident happened around 7:45 p.m. on June 22 at the Family Dollar at 3045 S. 13th Street. Two suspects walked into the store, pointed a gun at the cashier, and demanded money. The suspects took the cash drawer and fled from the scene.
Around forty minutes later, the same group committed a similar robbery at the Walgreens at 1433 W. Burnham Street. In this crime they also took the cash drawer before they fled from the scene. A broadcast of the suspects’ description was aired and a short time later, District Seven officers located three suspects matching the descriptions inside the CVS at 3030 W. Villard Avenue. The suspects ran when they saw the officers and two of them, a 21-year-old man and a 24-year-old man, were quickly taken into custody. MPD is still seeking the third suspect, a 22-year-old man.
Officers found two pistols and the cash drawers inside the car the suspects were driving. All three suspects are convicted felons with arrest records. The 21-year-old suspect recently had a warrant issued for his arrest for First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges.
