Two Injured in May 4 Northwest Side Crash

The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a traffic crash that happened around 9:45 p.m. on May 4 in the 3500 block of W. Custer Avenue. A 2001 Hyundai Sonata that was operating at a very high rate of speed northbound on N. 35th Street struck a 1999 GMC Jimmy that was westbound on W. Custer Avenue. According to witnesses, the Jimmy initially stopped at the stop sign but pulled out in front of the Sonata. The driver and lone occupant of the Sonata, a 33-year-old Milwaukee man, suffered from what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. He was operating on a suspended driver’s license. The driver and lone occupant of the Jimmy, a 46-year-old Milwaukee woman, suffered very serious injuries, and is currently being treated at a local hospital. She was operating on an expired learners permit. Our investigation into this accident is ongoing.
