Two Arrested in Northwest Side Armed Robbery, Car Theft

Milwaukee Police officers arrested two suspects wanted for a Northwest Side armed robbery and car theft and are investigating whether they could be responsible for similar crimes across the city. District Four officers responded to the 5900 block of N. 117th Street around 2:00 p.m. on July 16 for a report of an armed robbery. The victim, a 36-year-old Milwaukee woman, was sitting in her parked 2009 Honda Fit when the suspects’ vehicle, a Chevrolet Impala, pulled in front of her. One of the suspects exited the vehicle and pointed a gun at the victim and demanded her belongings and that she get out of the car. The suspect entered the victim’s car and both vehicles fled. Officers were able to track the victim’s stolen cell phone to the 2500 block of N. 41st Street where they located both the Impala and the Fit and arrested two suspects. A 17-year-old male suspect had the victim’s car keys in his pocket and a 16-year-old male suspect had the victim’s cell phone on him. Further investigation revealed that the Impala had been stolen earlier that day during an armed robbery in the 3700 block of W. Burleigh Street.

MPD continues to investigate whether these suspects are responsible for other armed robberies and car thefts in Milwaukee and surrounding jurisdictions. The case against the two suspects will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
