An armed robbery suspect is arrested by District Six officers of the Milwaukee Police Department after the victim thwarted the robbery and helped identify him. Officers responded to a gas station in the 3500 block of S. 13th Street at about 8:50 a.m. on January 29 for a report of an armed robbery. The 53-year-old male victim from Glendale was pumping gas when the suspect approached him with a gun and demanded his keys. The victim removed the gas nozzle from his vehicle and pointed it at the suspect. The suspect, concerned that he would be sprayed with gas, fled in his vehicle but the victim was able to note the license plate and make and model of the car. Shortly before 9:00 a.m., Milwaukee Police located and stopped the car in the 4800 block of S. 27th Street. The suspect, a 30-year-old Milwaukee man, was arrested and a gun and marijuana were found in the car. The suspect is also believed to be responsible for stealing the car he was stopped in earlier in the morning in the 6000 block of W. Bradley Road. MPD will present charges in both cases in the coming days to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
