Milwaukee Police, with the help of a trail of clues, arrested a suspect wanted in an armed robbery on the City’s North Side. District Five officers responded to the 400 block of E. Center Street around 7:45 p.m. on January 14 for a report of an armed robbery. The victim of the robbery, a 33-year-old Milwaukee woman, told officers she walked out of a store and two men approached her. One of the men had a gun and demanded her belongings. The victim complied and the suspects then fled on foot. Officers that were at the scene saw fresh footprints in the snow near the alley in the 2700 block of N. Buffum Street. Near the footprints, there were several identification and credit cards in the name of a 19-year-old Milwaukee man. Officers checked records for the name and located an address in the 2700 block of N. 2nd Street. At that residence, the 19-year-old Milwaukee man admitted to being involved in the robbery of the woman. He was taken into custody and MPD is currently searching for the suspect’s accomplice, a 17-year-old Milwaukee male. MPD will present the case against the 19-year-old suspect in the coming days to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
