The Milwaukee Police are investigating a triple fatal accident that happened around 2:50 a.m. on October 24 in the 200 block of W. Clybourn Avenue. A 2015 Lexus R350 was southbound on N. 2nd Street when it disregarded a solid red light and struck a 2013 Ford Fusion that was westbound on W. Clybourn Avenue. The two male occupants of the Lexus fled the scene on foot after the accident. The 41-year-old male driver of the Ford, acting as an “Uber” driver, suffered what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries and is currently being treated at a local hospital. His passengers, two females from Illinois ages 30 and 32 died on scene from their injuries. The third female also believed to be in her 30’s died from her injuries at a local hospital. She has yet to be identified. Our investigation into this accident and the identification of the occupants of the Lexus is ongoing.
UPDATE (10/24/16 at 1:35 p.m.): The suspect driver, a 23-year-old man, in the October 23 fatal crash in the 200 block of W. Clybourn Avenue turned himself in to Milwaukee Police a short time ago. MPD’s investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing.
