Milwaukee Police arrested three convicted felons for trying to break into a Northwest Side business. District Seven officers responded to the 7400 block of W. Hampton Avenue around 5:45 a.m. on August 3 after a caller reported a suspect was trying to break into a store. When officers arrived on the scene, they noticed fresh cut marks on the latch to the security gate. The officers also saw three men inside a van in the alley, with one of them matching the description of the suspect the witness saw. That suspect was also identified through surveillance video from the business. The bolt cutter used to cut the latch was found in the car the suspects were driving. The suspects, a 33-year-old man, a 48-year-old man, and a 52-year-old man, all from Milwaukee, were taken into custody. All three suspects are convicted felons and have lengthy criminal records and now face charges of Attempted Burglary. MPD will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
