Milwaukee Police arrested three armed robbery suspects after two armed robberies were committed on Milwaukee’s Northwest Side. District Four officers responded to a parking lot in the 10300 block of W. Silver Spring Drive around 12:15 p.m. on September 9 for a report of an armed robbery. A 48-year-old Milwaukee woman told officers she was inside her 2007 Saturn VUE when two suspects approached her, one armed with a gun, and ordered her out of the car. The victim complied and the two suspects fled from the scene in her vehicle. The suspects then committed another armed robbery around 12:30 p.m. in a parking lot in the 9200 block of W. Lisbon Avenue where they stole a purse from a 65-year-old Milwaukee woman and fled in the Saturn VUE.
Using the stolen car’s OnStar system, officers from Districts Four and Seven were able to locate it near N. 76thStreet and W. Green Tree Road. They pursued the vehicle until it crashed just before 1:30 p.m. near N. 54th Street and W. Congress Street. A MPD squad car also crashed into a fence at the end of the pursuit and two officers inside the squad were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Three male suspects fled on foot from the stolen car and were arrested a short time later by officers. Officers also recovered the gun believed to have been used in both crimes. MPD is also investigating whether the suspects are also responsible for other armed robberies in Milwaukee and outside jurisdictions. MPD will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
