Teenage Suspect Arrested in South Side Armed Robbery

Milwaukee Police arrested a teenage suspect wanted for a South Side armed robbery and are searching for his accomplice. District Two officers responded to the 1500 block of S. 6th Street around 11:00 a.m. on October 11 for a report of an armed robbery. The victim, a 26-year-old Milwaukee man, told officers he was walking on the sidewalk when two suspects approached him, one of them armed with a gun. The suspects demanded his belongings and fled on foot with the victim’s two cell phones and cash. Just before 12:00 p.m., officers responding in the area saw two males that matched the description of the suspects in the 1900 block of S. 10th Street. The suspects fled on foot and officers were able to take one of them into custody. That suspect is a 15-year-old Milwaukee male. MPD is currently searching for the second known suspect. The suspect that was arrested admitted his involvement in the armed robbery and investigators believe the two may be responsible for several other similar armed robberies on the South Side over the past few days. MPD will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges.
