Milwaukee Police arrested a teenage suspect after he led officers on a chase with a stolen car that was used in an earlier strong armed robbery. District Five officers were on patrol near N. Holton Street and W. Chambers Street around 3:50 a.m. on May 29 when they saw a vehicle speeding on N. Holton Street. This vehicle matched the description of a vehicle used in a strong armed robbery minutes before in the 500 block of N. Water Street where several suspects stole belongings from a 33-year-old man. The vehicle had been stolen on May 28 from a garage in the 2900 block of N. 51st Street. The District Five officers attempted to stop the vehicle but it fled from the scene and they began a pursuit. The vehicle eventually stopped at N. 36th Street and W. Thurston Avenue after hitting a curb and three occupants fled from the scene on foot. The car then sped away but crashed into several cars and a fire hydrant. The driver, a 15-year-old Milwaukee male, was taken into custody. MPD continues to search for the other suspects. Charges will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
