Two suspects fleeing from Milwaukee Police officers in a stolen car are arrested and believed to be involved in a dozen or more recent armed robberies in the city and surrounding suburbs. The suspects were driving a 2004 Ford Escape that had been stolen during an armed robbery on February 4 in the 1200 block of S. 32nd Street. Officers from District Two saw the vehicle near S. 25th Street and W. Greenfield Avenue just before 10:00 p.m. on February 5 and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle sped away but lost control and struck a snow bank a short time later near S. 27th Street and W. Lapham Street. Two of the three suspects inside the car were arrested after a short foot chase. MPD continues its search for the third suspect. The suspects arrested are a 15-year-old male and a 21-year-old man, both from Milwaukee. It’s believed these two suspects are part of a group responsible for a dozen or more armed robberies in the past few days in both Milwaukee and outside jurisdictions. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
