Two suspects are arrested by officers from District Three of the Milwaukee Police Department after the suspects stole a car with four victims, including three children, inside. The driver of the vehicle, a 29-year-old Milwaukee woman, went inside a gas station in the 4900 block of W. Lisbon Avenue at approximately 6:35 p.m. on September 27. Four people, the victim’s 9-year-old, 7-year-old, and 2-year-old children and the victim’s 17-year-old cousin, stayed inside the vehicle. An unknown suspect then got into the car and drove off with the victims still inside. A few minutes later in the 2400 block of N. 50th Street, the suspect let the four individuals out of the car and fled in the vehicle. Using the driver’s “Find my iPhone” app on the cell phone that was left in the vehicle, officers were able to locate the vehicle near N. 30th Street and W. Wright Street. Officers began to pursue the vehicle when the stolen car crashed into a building in the 2800 block of W. Center Street. Two suspects, a 19-year-old Milwaukee man and a 20-year-old Milwaukee man, were taken into custody following a brief foot chase. Both suspects are convicted felons. MPD will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
