Milwaukee Police arrested two suspects, and are seeking a third, who are believed to be responsible for two different armed robberies on the South Side. District Two officers responded to the 500 block of W. Historic Mitchell Street around 12:15 a.m. on September 22 for a report of an armed robbery. The victim, a 25-year-old Milwaukee man, said three men, armed with guns, approached him and demanded his belongings. The suspects took money and the victim’s cell phone and fled on foot. Around 12:55 a.m., District Six officers received a report of another armed robbery that happened in the 2500 block of S. Logan Avenue. The victim, a 30-year-old Milwaukee man, was robbed of his cell phone and a telescope by three suspects, one of them armed with a gun.
Officers who responded to the second armed robbery found the stolen telescope inside a nearby car in the 1000 block of E. Conway Street. Two suspects, ages 22 and 24 and who matched the description of the suspects in the robberies, were located and arrested a short time later in the neighborhood. The car, with the stolen telescope inside, belonged to one of the suspects. The stolen cell phone from the Logan Avenue robbery was found on the 22-year-old and the stolen cell phone from the Historic Mitchell Street robbery was found inside his car. MPD is still searching for a third suspect. Both cases will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
