Around 12:15am on September 5th, Milwaukee Police offficers on patrol observed a 2002 Chevy Avalanche wanted in regards to a homicide that occurred on August 30th. The vehicle fled from officers who pursued it for two minutes until it struck a 1997 Lincoln that was traveling eastbound on W. Capitol Drive at N. 15th Street. The Avalanche then came to rest against a home on the corner. The driver of the Avalanche, (believed to be the suspect in the homicide) a male in his 20’s, fled the scene but was located hiding in a nearby yard. He was treated for minor injuries and is currently in custody. A 23-year-old female passenger in the Avalanche was taken into custody at the scene. She was also treated for minor injuries. The lone occupant of the Lincoln, a 47-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of what is believed to be a non-life threatening injury. Our investigation into this incident is ongoing.
