Witnesses gave a description of a  female fleeing in a green pickup truck. Officers Rebecca Carpenter and Dennie Sanchez responded to the scene. While enroute, Officer Carpenter observed a matching vehicle westbound on W. Chambers St. Officers Carpenter and Sanchez conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 block of W. Hopkins. There were two suspects in the pickup and the driver’s 4-year-old daughter was in the back seat.

Investigation revealed that the passenger, a female, had fired a shot into an occupied residence in the 600 block of W. Chambers, got in the pickup that the child’s father was driving and fled the scene. The driver is a felon on parole for robbery and had hiden the handgun under the driver’s seat. Both are in custody; the child was returned to family members.
