Suspect on Probation for Burglary Arrested for Similar Crime

A burglary suspect, on probation for a Waukesha County burglary, is arrested by District Seven officers of the Milwaukee Police Department after being spotted at the scene. Officers responded to the 2800 block of N. 36th Street at about 1:15 p.m. on January 28th after a citizen saw the suspect break into a vacant home through a basement window. When officers arrived, they saw him exiting the window and running away. The suspect, a 49-year-old Milwaukee man, was taken into custody after a short foot chase. Officers found a knife on him and he admitted to breaking into the home. The suspect also has a lengthy criminal record dating back to 1995. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
