The Milwaukee County District Attorney has charged a 19-year-old Greenfield man in connection with an attempted armed robbery. Milwaukee Police arrested Anthony Rosa following a March 29 incident at a gas station in the 1800 block of W. Greenfield Avenue. According to the criminal complaint, the victim, a 57-year-old Milwaukee man, let the suspect into the locked business. Rosa placed a knife to his throat and demanded money. The victim was able to break loose, lock himself in a room and call the police. The suspect ended up being locked inside the store. Rosa smashed a window and escaped when he was spotted by an officer from District 2 and was taken into custody.
Rosa is charged with Attempted Armed Robbery and Second Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety. He faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
