A quick response by Milwaukee Police Department District Seven officers led to the arrest of two suspects, including a convicted felon, for a Northwest Side armed robbery. Officers responded to the Walgreens in the 7600 block of W. Capitol Drive around 9:10 p.m. on July 5 for a report of an armed robbery. A suspect walked into the store, pointed a gun at an employee, and demanded cash and cigarettes. The suspect then fled with another suspect in an Oldsmobile Intrigue. That vehicle was located by District Seven officers less than 20 minutes later in the 2800 block of N. 39th Street. Both suspects, a 24-year-old man and a 36-year-old man, were taken into custody and the money and cigarettes were found inside the car. The 36-year-old man is a convicted felon with a criminal record dating back to 1996. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges.
