Milwaukee Police officers arrested a suspect immediately after he tried to break into a West Side business. Officers from District Three responded to the business in the 900 block of N. 27th Street at about 3:15 a.m. on May 10 for a call of a suspicious subject. Officers were told a man in a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants was using a cement block to try and break the front door of the business. Officers found the suspect immediately when they arrived and also noticed damage to the front door. The suspect, a 22-year-old Milwaukee man, was taken into custody and later confessed to the crime. Investigators are looking into whether the same suspect might be responsible for two similar burglaries at the same location in March. MPD will present the current case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
