Milwaukee Police are investigating a serious shooting that happened around 3:30 a.m. on June 16 in the 5200 block of N. Sherman Boulevard. A 40-year-old woman was shot during circumstances that are still being investigated. The victim was conveyed to a local hospital by MFD. She is being treated for a very serious gunshot wound. A male person of interest has been taken into custody for this shooting.
UPDATE (6/20/16 at 9:30 a.m.): The victim in the June 16 shooting in the 5100 block of N. Sherman Boulevard passed away from her injuries on June 19. The suspect in this case, a 52-year-old Milwaukee man, remains in custody and MPD will seek amended charges in the coming days at the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
