A quick response by MPD District One officers resulted in the arrest of a man who fired a gun inside a car in Downtown Milwaukee. The officers were on patrol in the 300 block of E. Michigan Street around 2:00 a.m. on June 4 when they heard a gunshot and quickly ran towards the direction of the gunfire. A 25-year-old Milwaukee man was located trying to drive off in his car but officers stopped him. The officers looked in the car and found a casing stuck between the driver’s seat and the vehicle’s carpet. A Glock semiautomatic handgun was also found under the front driver’s seat. The casing and the ammunition located inside the magazine were both the same caliber. The suspect was taken into custody and a field sobriety test revealed that the man’s blood alcohol level was 0.12. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges of Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Operating a Firearm While Intoxicated.
