Milwaukee Police arrested a suspect with a gun after witnesses reported the suspect pointed the gun at a citizen near N. Water Street and E. Juneau Avenue. District One officers were on patrol in the 200 block of E. Juneau Avenue around 12:35 a.m. on August 15 when a citizen approached them and identified a man who threatened him with a gun. The suspect ran away from the officers and the officers chased him on foot. During the chase, the suspect, a 25-year-old Milwaukee man, threw his gun to the ground and shortly after was taken into custody. The suspect, who is statutorily prohibited from carrying a gun, faces potential charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Resisting and Officer, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
