Surveillance Video Leads to Arrest in Armed Cab Robbery

A 22-year-old Milwaukee man has been arrested and charged following the armed robbery of a cab driver. The discovery of a tattoo on the suspect in a surveillance video led to the arrest.

The suspect robbed a 36-year-old male cab driver on November 25 in the 5100 block of N. 57th Street. The victim reported the suspect asked him to pull over and presented a semi-automatic handgun while demanding money. The suspect then fled on foot.

While reviewing surveillance video from the cab, investigators noticed a distinctive tattoo on the suspect. They were able to match that with a booking photo from the suspect’s previous contact with police. The suspect was located and taken into custody and confessed to detectives that he committed the crime. The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office charged Terry L. Thomas on December 5 with armed robbery.
