Suitcase Surprise: Officers Find Stolen Animals, Solve Burglary Case

Milwaukee Police arrested two teenagers after they were found with stolen items, including two rabbits and a lizard, taken in a Northwest Side burglary. District Four officers responded to Vincent High School, 7501 N. Granville Road, around 4:00 p.m. on July 1 for a report of a burglary after several items from a classroom, animals included, were reported missing. Additional officers on patrol in the area saw two teenagers walking down the street by the high school, one of them rolling a suitcase. The officers stopped the teens, opened the suitcase, and found the stolen animals. Other stolen items from the classroom were found on the second suspect, who was wearing a tactical vest with police patches sewn on. Both suspects, a 14-year-old Milwaukee male and a 16-year-old Milwaukee male, were taken into custody. MPD will present the case, with charges of burglary and impersonating a police officer, to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
