The Milwaukee Police Department’s Office of Community Outreach and Education, along with students from The Art Institute of Wisconsin, are working together to create a logo for the recently created division. On Wednesday, December 11 the groups held a Gallery Night at the Art Institute in Milwaukee’s Third Ward. Students created 31 unique images that incorporated the Office’s objective of creating and sustaining partnerships within the community, while increasing their knowledge of how the department functions and how they can improve their safety.
Those attending the event were able to view each of the entries and then cast their vote. The winning entry will be selected in the next two weeks. The student with the winning submission will receive a $250 scholarship, compliments of the Students Taking It Over with Police (STOP) Back to School Bash.
