A suspect wanted in a strong armed robbery is arrested by the Milwaukee Police Department after he is caught in the act committing a separate crime. District One officers responded to the 700 block of N. Old World Third Street at about 3:45 a.m. on April 2 for a report of a robbery. A 31-year-old female victim told officers she was in her car when a male suspect approached her and stole her wallet. The suspect then fled from the scene on foot. About 15 minutes later, officers saw a suspect trying to rob a cashier at a business in the 600 block of W. Wisconsin Avenue. A 47-year-old Kenosha man was taken into custody and he matched the description of the suspect in the earlier crime. Officers found the suspect’s yellow hooded sweatshirt that he used in the first crime near the second crime scene. The suspect is a convicted felon and has a lengthy criminal record dating back to 1987. MPD will present charges to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
