Shooting Suspect Arrested by District Five Officers Minutes After the Crime

A shooting suspect is arrested by officers from District Five of the Milwaukee Police Department just minutes after the crime. Officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of N. 20th Street at about 4:10 a.m. on November 11th for a report of a shooting. The victim, a 52-year-old man, was on his bicycle when the suspect walked past him and shot him. The suspect then fled on foot. Officers responded to the area, got a description of the suspect from the victim, and a few minutes later located the suspect in the 2500 block of N. 24th Street. The suspect, a 20-year-old Milwaukee man, had started a fire to destroy his clothing. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
