A 17-year-old male is arrested and charged following the robbery of a teenage victim. Officers from District 7 arrested Deangelo Burnett, of Milwaukee, following a strong-armed robbery on April 7 in the 4100 block of N. 77th Street at approximately 3:40 pm.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim, a 15-year-old Milwaukee male, was walking home from school when Burnett approached him and demanded his phone. As the victim tried to protect himself, another individual knocked him to the ground and Burnett stole his phone.
The victim saw the group enter a convenience store in the 7800 block of W. Congress Street and called police. Officers went to the business and were able to spot Burnett on surveillance video walking into the building. As officers were examining the video, Burnett happened to walk into the store. Officers recognized him from the video and the victim’s description and arrested him.
The other two suspects are not in custody. Burnett faces one charge of robbery by use of force and faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
