The Milwaukee County District Attorney has charged a 23-year-old Milwaukee man with a felony count of false imprisonment and a misdemeanor count of carrying a concealed weapon following an incident that led to the lockdown of Mt. Mary University.
The suspect, armed with a loaded pistol, went to the university and made his way into the victim’s dorm room around 6:30 p.m. on January 24. According to prosecutors, the suspect hid in the victim’s room and when the 21-year-old Milwaukee woman returned, he held her against her will for several hours while threatening her with the firearm. When he left, he stole an iPhone from another woman in the dorm who was attempting to call security.
Milwaukee Police responded to the university and upon learning the iPhone was taken, a quick thinking officer asked if she had the “Track my iPhone App.” She did and the officer had her log into his iPhone and they were able to track the suspect to the 4100 block of N. 95th Street where he was hiding in a snow bank in a church parking lot.
