A teenage suspect was arrested for an attempted burglary after alert neighbors provided a description of him to the Milwaukee Police Department. At approximately 3:30 pm on May 28, District Three officers were called to the 1700 block of N. 51st Street for an entry in progress call. When the officers arrived, two neighbors told them they witnessed a teenager trying to break into an unoccupied home. When the suspect saw the witnesses, he fled on foot. The neighbors provided police with a description of the suspect and officers found the suspect in the 2200 block of N. Hi-Mount Boulevard and took him into custody.
The suspect, a 14-year-old Milwaukee male, confessed to the attempted burglary. He also told detectives he attempted to break into a separate garage earlier in the day. The case will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
