Following are overnight items of interest from the Milwaukee Police Department that were shared with the media:
The Milwaukee Police Department took a 23-year-old man into custody for animal cruelty. The suspect was arrested in the 4400 block of N.54th Street Friday evening after attempting to set the family dog on fire . The Boxer was conveyed to a local animal hospital for treatment for burns over 25 percent of its body.
The department is also investigating some unrelated shootings.One occurred in the 2400 block of N. 37th Street at 9:45 p.m. Friday. A 24-year-old man suffered non life-threatening gunshot wounds and was conveyed to a local hospital for treatment.
Another shooting occurred in the area of N. 70th St. and W. Capitol Dr. at 10:20 p.m. The victim, a 24-year-old man, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He is being treated for his injuries at a local hospital. The police are seeking two subjects in this offense.
