Officers’ Squad Struck by Juveniles in Stolen Car

May 7th, 2012 by milwaukeepolice

When criminals work the weekend, so do Milwaukee Police. Neighborhood Task Force Officers Ryan Carpenter and Rudy Alvarado were patrolling the area near 27th and Wisconsin Ave. Saturday morning at 8:12 a.m. when some citizens flagged them down to report suspicious people. The officers pulled up to the van in which the subjects were riding so they could conduct a field interview to talk to the subjects. As the officers were getting out of their squad, some subjects driving a different mini van struck the squad and fled. The officers jumped back in their squad and pursued the striking vehicle, catching up to them and arresting two suspects in the 1200 block of n. 35th St.  The van had been reported stolen from a target area of violent crime in District  7 on Hampton Avenue. The two juveniles taken into custody live in the area of 37th Hampton Avenue and told police they took the van from 48th and Fairmount.
