Milwaukee Police officers working crowd management for the July 3 U.S. Bank Fireworks quickly sprang into action when they came across a 25-year-old Glendale man who had stopped breathing. The officers found the man shortly before 8:30 p.m. when they noticed his car stopped in traffic on North Avenue at Holton Street. The driver was unresponsive, so the officers removed him from the car and laid him on the street. The officers evaluated his condition and found that the man was not breathing and had no pulse. Sergeant Tanya Boll, Detective William Sherman, and Officers Paul Newell and Shawn Humitz performed CPR and resuscitated the man, likely saving his life. The Milwaukee Fire Department conveyed the man to the hospital for treatment.
