Officers Arrest Suspect in an Armed Robbery Minutes after the Crime

Milwaukee Police arrested an armed robbery suspect minutes after the crime.  District 5 officers investigated an armed robbery on Thursday, October 1st, 2015 at around 5:40 p.m. in the 2600 block of W. Hadley Street.  An armed suspect pointed a handgun at the victims, demanded and obtained their property.   The suspect fled in a vehicle with a second suspect driving.

While on patrol minutes later, two officers from the Neighborhood Task Force found the getaway vehicle about ten blocks from the robbery and attempted a traffic stop.  The driver, a 26 year old Milwaukee man, refused to pull over and crashed into a passing car as he attempted to elude the police.  The driver jumped from the moving getaway vehicle, ran from police, but was apprehended after a short foot chase.  The getaway vehicle was also taken in an armed robbery in Milwaukee earlier in the year.   The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office in the coming days and MPD continues to seek the second suspect.
