A suspect is arrested by Milwaukee Police after he fired shots at a group of teenagers outside of a Northwest Side fast food restaurant. District Seven officers responded to the 7400 block of W. Appleton Avenue just after 10:00 p.m. on May 7 for a report of shots fired. At the scene, the officers talked to an employee who said a subject had confronted a group of teenagers inside the restaurant and then chased them outside before firing two shots at them and fleeing. Two 9mm casings were located in the parking lot. Responding officers noticed a man on a motorcycle in the 7400 block of W. Beckett Avenue who matched the description of the suspect. The 30-year-old Milwaukee man was taken into custody and a 9mm handgun was found in a bag on his motorcycle. During an interview with investigators, the suspect confessed to shooting the gun to try and scare the teenagers. MPD will present charges of Endangering Safety by Use of a Dangerous Weapon to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
