Officers Arrest Four Violent Suspects

July 31st, 2012 by milwaukeepolice

On July 23 at 1:45 a.m., District 7 Officers Martez Ball and Sarah Beland were stopped at West Capitol Drive at North 35th Street for the red traffic light when they saw four suspects walking east across North 35th Street toward the bus stop. Moments later, they saw a man running west from the bus stop with the four suspects chasing him west across North 35th Street in the 4000 block.

Officers saw the four suspects knock the victim down and then start beating him in the street. As officers pulled up, the four suspects ran away. Officer Ball was able to knock one of the suspects down immediately, and Officer Beland took him into custody while Officer Ball continued to chase the remaining three suspects. Officer Ball was able to apprehend two more suspects and responding squads apprehended the fourth suspect at 36th and Marion. The victim, a 50-year-old male, suffered numerous head injuries but is expected to survive.

Excellent work by these two officers in taking four violent suspects off the streets.
