A Milwaukee Police officer diffuses a potentially dangerous situation and arrests a man for pointing and aiming a gun. This happened around 12:45 pm on January 1 outside a business in the 2900 block of N. Humboldt Blvd. Upon arrival, the officer from District 5 told the suspect to drop the weapon but the suspect initially refused to comply. The officer was eventually able to safely recover the 9mm pistol from the suspect, a 34-year-old Milwaukee man, and take the suspect into custody without incident.
The suspect admitted to having been drinking since 7:00 pm the night before. A breathalyzer test revealed his Blood Alcohol Content was .22. He faces several charges including Aggravated Assault-Pointing and Aiming a Firearm. A records check revealed the suspect to have a valid open arrest warrant for Driving While Intoxicated. The case will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
