The quick actions of an off-duty Milwaukee Police Department Captain helped bring two juveniles to justice for a Northwest Side armed robbery. Officers responded to the 5500 block of W. Capitol Drive around 1:15 p.m. on February 20 for a report of an armed robbery. The victim, an 83-year-old woman, was in a parking lot when four male suspects approached her, pointed a gun at her, and stole her car keys. The suspects were then chased off by several citizens that prevented the theft of the victim’s car. An off-duty MPD captain in the neighborhood saw two of the suspects running and found them a short time later at a residence the 4200 block of N. 51st Boulevard. Those suspects, a 14-year-old Milwaukee male and a 15-year-old Milwaukee male, were taken into custody and officers found a toy gun believed to be used in the crime and the victim’s keys inside the home. MPD is currently searching for the other two suspects and will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges.
