The Milwaukee Police are investigating a fatal accident that happened around 10:00 p.m. on February 22 at S. 16th Street and W. National Avenue. A 35-year-old male victim was struck as he was crossing S. 16th St by a northbound vehicle. The victim was crossing against the no walk sign. According to witnesses, the auto sped up to beat the light and continued northbound on S. 16th Street without stopping. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. The striking vehicle is described as a newer model white pick-up truck with a black rack holding ladders. Our investigation into this incident is ongoing.
UPDATE (2/23/16 at 4:50 p.m.): Below are photos of the vehicle wanted in connection with the fatal hit and run. The first two are photographs of the actual striking auto. The third is an exemplar vehicle and is not the actual vehicle wanted in this offense. The striking auto is described as a newer model Ford F-350 Super Duty extended cab with dual rear tires. The vehicle is white in color, has marker lights on the top of the cab, and at the time of the crash was equipped with a ladder rack containing several ladders. The vehicle was last seen exiting the 16th Street Viaduct onto S Emmber Ln. Anyone with information is asked to call Milwaukee Police at 414-935-7360.
