MPD Seeking Information on South Side Liquor Store Robbers

The Milwaukee Police Department is seeking assistance identifying the suspects responsible for the an armed robbery that happened at Layton Beer and Liquor, located at 2008 W. Layton Avenue, at 12:19 p.m. on September 19.

Two suspects entered the business and acted as if they were customers. One suspect produced a handgun,pointed it at the store clerk, and demanded money from the cash register. The second suspect then began to take bottles of liquor off the shelves and placed them in a plastic bag. The suspects fled from the store with the money and liquor.

The store clerk then retrieved a handgun and followed the suspects out of the store where he fired rounds toward the suspects, striking no one, however the second suspect dropped the bag containing the stolen liquor.

The first suspect is described as a white male in his late 20′s, 6’2″, with dark brown hair and a beard. The second suspect is described as a black male in his early 20′s, 5’2″.
