UPDATED: MPD Searching for Man Who Jumped Into River

The Milwaukee Police and Fire Department and the United States Coast Guard are searching for a man who jumped into the Milwaukee River off of the Miss Wisconsin tour boat near the end of a 1 ½ hour party cruise around 12:10 a.m. on August 2. The man, who according to witnesses appeared intoxicated, jumped into the water of his own accord and began to swim around and refused attempts to retrieve the life ring that was thrown to him. At one point he went below the surface and did not come back up. The subject was one of 134 passengers and appears to have gone on the cruise by himself without any friends. We are asking the public’s help in identifying him, he is described as a:

• Hispanic or light-skinned Black male in his late 40’s or early 50’s,

• 5’6” tall and approximately 155 lbs. with a shaved head

• He was last seen wearing a white tank top, dark-colored pants, a brown fedora-style hat, and a white rubber necklace

• Tattoos on both biceps

Anyone with information is asked to call the Milwaukee Police at 414 -935-3813.  The search will resume on the morning of August 2.
