Milwaukee Police, along with area law enforcement partners, volunteered to help make the holidays brighter for dozens of local children and their families through the 7th annual “Shop with a Cop”.
Children from the Journey House, Boys and Girls Club, Neighborhood House, Holton Family Center, and the Hillside Family Resource Center all took part in the event on Saturday, December 7th.
The day started with breakfast at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center and then the officers and children departed for the Walmart on Layton Avenue in Greenfield for some holiday shopping. While at Walmart, the officers helped the children buy gifts for their family members and themselves. After shopping they went back to Journey House to eat pizza and wrap gifts.
Milwaukee Police were joined by officers from Bayside, Fox Point, Greendale, Greenfield, Hales Corners, St. Francis, University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, and Wisconsin State Fair Park Police along with the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office and agents from the U.S. Marshals Service and U.S. Secret Service.
